Mental Wellness Centers is pleased to welcome Vernon Kubiak, DNP, to their Idaho Falls and Pocatello office. He is currently accepting patients ages 6 and up, and accepts most insurances including Medicaid and Medicare.
Before making the switch to nursing, Vernon worked as a physicist at the Idaho National Laboratory and served as a nuclear submarine officer for the Navy. During this time, he volunteered as an EMS responder and found he had a passion for the medical field. Vernon graduated from Idaho State University with an Associate’s, a Bachelor’s, and a Master’s Degree in Nursing, and then began working as a professor in their nursing program., molding the next generation of nurses. Overlapping his time at ISU, he has worked in emergency and critical care units where he learned the importance of a timely response to a mental health crisis. He went on to receive a Doctorate degree in Nursing at Rush University. His master’s and doctorate program specialized in using pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments to ease patient suffering. During his internships, he became passionate to help those achieve the best life possible and specialized in treating individuals who are suffering from a co-morbid medical diagnosis.
Vernon is board certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center. He is licensed to diagnose, treat, and manage psychiatric illnesses through psychotherapy and medication management.
